The Princeton Area Community Foundation (PACF), in partnership with The Burke Foundation, awarded LJTP’s CookWell program a $10,000 grant for program support in 2019-20. We are grateful for this timely award, which has provided a huge boost for CookWell through its most recent training cycle and a time of creative rethinking of its program model.
The year 2019 was the first time PACF’s Community Impact Grants and The Burke Foundation’s Legacy Grants programs teamed up to provide funding to regional nonprofits. Their collaboration increased the pool of money available to programs that meet basic needs of low-income individuals, families and communities. The joint effort resulted in more than $600,000 being distributed to sixteen nonprofits in Mercer County and parts of Burlington, Hunterdon, Middlesex, Somerset, and Bucks counties. According to Jeffrey Vega, president of PACF, the foundation looks forward to more such partnerships in the future, expanding the number of programs that receive grants.
