The Lawrenceville Job-Training Partnership (LJTP) is a collaboration, begun in 2018 by the Presbyterian Church of Lawrenceville, to provide job training for returning citizens. LJTP’s initial job-training program was called CookWell.
CookWell was a community-based culinary education program for returning citizens. We provided:
- Formal training in culinary and hospitality skills
- Apprenticeships in Lawrenceville/Princeton/Trenton area restaurants
- Intensive life-skills training and support.
Starting in 2020, we intended to begin a catering business, which would support the initial phase of our training program. But the COVID-19 pandemic has put that plan on hold. Our current focus is WorkWell, a more broad-based program to prepare participants for sustainable employment in various occupations.
The WorkWell program brings together agency/community partners, drawing on the unique expertise of each to help people transition to life after incarceration. The Lawrenceville Job-Training Partnership (LJTP) is a tax-exempt 501c3 nonprofit affiliated with the Presbyterian Church of Lawrenceville.
